So I flew to San Francisco on Saturday (which is an 11 hour flight). After the first two movies (there was a great selection available), your brain turns mush and boredom hits. Just 8 more hours… To cut a long flight short, I finally arrived at the WildPalms hotel.

After a good “nights” rest (waking up at 05:00 due to jetlag), waiting for the breakfast to be served and eventually having breakfast, I find went for a nice long walk. ( pictures ). I saw the main office of Apple and had a good cup of coffee at StarBucks. When I got back to my room, I relaxed a bit and prepared for the Ubuntu Developer Summit which will start tomorrow

Dutch ISP’s close “spam” port 25?

Yesterday I read an article about the fact that a couple of Dutch ISP’s now block ‘spam’ port 25. Port 25 is nothing more than your SMTP port, which probably is exploited by botnet-admins to send loads and loads of spam.
So now all of their customers have to suffer, which is overkill, for the few customers that have insecure, infected systems. Luckily my ISP is ‘smart’, which the others are clearly not, because they monitor the traffic on port 25 and block specific customers which send spam. At the end of the day I’m glad I pay a buck a month more, but I’m also getting a better service for it!

Aangezien ik wat interessant gaming-news had gelezen, leek het me leuk om hierover een discussie te starten. Aangezien ik al een geruime tijd in het bezit ben van een Transgaming account, vond ik het Transgaming forum wel een geschikte plaats voor een dergelijke discussie. Nadat ik mijn topic had aangemaakt zag ik ineens een klein, groen diamantje naast mijn nickname met de tekst erbij: “Emerald Transgamer”. Happy, happy, joy, joy
